What struck a chord with me when I started this journey was just how casually black people talked about being careful when dealing with police, and one woman almost joking about her fear at the time. It made me SO ANGRY. She was talking about it as though it was to be expected. At that time in my life, seeing that, fresh off of George Floyd's murder, I felt rage for what was obviously her daily life, and that hasn't gone away. I heard comedians talk about this same topic before, but it never really sunk in until I heard someone so casually describing it. This is why these conversations need to happen. We need that insiders perspective. Looking back on it now, I feel stupid because it should have been obvious, but sometimes you need that jolt to wake you up to the harsh reality. That's why videos like this, and others from a black person's perspective regarding these important topics, need to be seen and shared. *Edit* Amber Ruffin was the black woman telling the story. I couldn't think of her name before

I would rather the kneeling help get the message across than simply helping "blacks cope". The violence I'm sure is a reference to rioting and that is the message of those otherwise not heard. Don't know what you're getting at with "sexuality", so I'll leave that alone.

Dude there are only 32 freakin teams, the fact that they are mostly white owners isn’t indicative of any problem. There’s more white people than black. Its another p.r. stunt with Roger Godell and the NFL, on not really aknoledging the real image problem that the NFL have with people of color. Still their is no black owner, there is a few general managers, still not enough coaches of color. Until the NFL cleans up its image of racism and prejudice and discrimination. This really does feel like a very rich white guy who did very little too late wanted to have a Black man make him feel better and look better in the public eye. The way he said "I bet you didn't know a lot about me," had the vibe of "I've been treated badly because of my economic and racial status too," which is clearly laughable. Emmanuel is such a kind person that he treated Goodell with a lot of respect and dignity. I know he's not a journalist, but I wish at the very least Emmanuel had asked him for very specific concrete things he was going to do going forward. It's just so frustrating how much ego-soothing and hand-holding these rich white men need to have in order to do the right thing. I have so much respect for Emmanuel for being willing to do it. He shouldn't have to, but I'm glad he is.

I don't think Goodell is a bad guy. I think he was ignorant of the real issue and it wasn't until it hit his family that he saw that. Could he do more? Of course! No one in history has ever gotten a perfect score in "life." It's a constant journey. Once he saw his nephew in what was being discussed, he changed his mind. That's the real point: it had to hit home for him to even acknowledge what he did wrong. Better late than never.

Maybe there is something am not understanding or listening deeper. I understand what the peaceful protest is about. And I keep hearing that is not about the flag and our military. But I still feel that kneeling to our national anthem while it’s honoring our military and the people before us. Is still not okay, I think it’s disrespectful to any ancestors or ppl who have put their life on the line for our rights and our people. Those people deserve to be honored and respected because they fought against way harsher issues! And kneeling while the national anthem to me is not justifiable. There are other platforms that can be used to voice injustice other than the national anthem. I would one day hope to understand why behind the kneeling in front of the national anthem. And come to peace with it. But until then am sorry but I can’t.

I have been a fan of this series, but these segments with Roger Goodell were a joke. First its clear Acho has a great relationship with Goodell right off the bat. Nothing here or in part 1 was close to uncomfortable...Acho barely mentions Kaepernick's name in part 1 and did he mention his name here. The softball questions, the portrayal of the League reaching out to Kaep to make things right.....this was an epic fail period.

It would’ve have been appreciated for more pressing questions to be on the table. Black leadership ie; owners, coaches, executives, and etc. Personal community engagement. A black agenda in regards to philanthropic endeavors. What would you say to someone who views your stance change as a business move? The best apology is changed behavior; what actions will you employ that align with your new stance? So many other questions. I would love to see Charalamagne Tha God, Killer Mike, or Bakari Sellers interview Rodger.

Well, that would be a pretty big turnaround. The NFL has fought tooth and nail against accepting concussions as a major topic of concern. For many,, many years. Called CTE, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Just like BSE , Bovine Spongiform Emcephalopathy or Mad Cow Disease. The brain becomes more and more like Swiss cheese. It does not repair itself. It only gets worse until it kills you. And it is a terrible way to go. The NFL are a very powerful force. Years and years of denial of irrefutable evidence. They did everything in their power throwing countless resources into denial and fighting the truth. When they could have used their resources to the greatest benefit. Millions and millions wasted. Playing as a professional athlete is a mostly young individual's game. Then they move on into the rest of their lives. Quality of life afterward should have always been of the utmost concern. And the NFL should have taken the lead in addressing these issues. Many former players and Hall of Famer's suffered this fate. Many also left their brains to science. To be analyzed because nothing was being done. The NFL was the brick wall even the players themselves couldn't penetrate. Many committed suicide as the disease tore their brains to pieces. They were many peoples heros. They deserved so much better.

I can only hope people learned to be better and be sincere versus avoiding the loss of power and money. I keep thinking of all the people in so many places in the world. People who don't know what is happening tomorrow. Under threat of wars or warlords or whatever. There is no certainty. Or there is a false sense of certainty. This is why people align themselves with psychotic leaders who promise them an end to their uncertainty. All the kids in Africa or Central America who are raised by the grand parents because their parents are dead or stolen. I think of all the kids in East LA or Harlem or Cleveland who live in communities sacrificed to drugs or crime or corruption. The people you talked to are nice middle class kids who are telling you what you want to hear. These are not refugees. These are not young kids who got sold to armies. These are not people with no concept of a future that could be better. Kind of reminds me of first world problems. OMG the waste disposal is broken. No, I do understand that these people live lives of some doubt and fear, but so did I and I am white bread and middle class and really knew no danger I didn't arrange for myself. The world can be a terrible place and it is not based just on color. It can be as arbitrary as the nation and condition of your birth.

Acho once again shows his racism in this clip. He assumes that a rift exists between white franchise owners and black players. How about you stop characterizing people based upon their skin color, Acho? How about that? (4:34) Goodell confirms he is a sellout and capitulates to the woke folk and their anti-American agenda. (6:19) Who gives two flying f**ks about what Goodells’s dad thinks? The last two minutes of this video are verbal vomit. The NFL exists to entertain. And he says the players who took a knee during the Anthem were not punished. I think Colin and others have been shunned and punished passively in grave ways. He says he wishes there could be a conversation with Colin. Colin agreed to meet but only with a negotiator present. Goodell refused. He's slippery or still in denial of his racism.

Here's the truth: the only way to stop racism is to stop talking about/obsessing over it.
